Rockwood Revival
Reviving this traditional 1950s home, while honoring the initial craftsmanship and incorporating modern conveniences was a rewarding challenge. The homeowners wanted a larger, more open kitchen that included better circulation to and from the garage, the laundry room and the backyard. Removing a wall, widening several passageways, and including cohesive flooring throughout increased the square footage and improved the movement through each space. Reorienting the island and increasing its limited functionality, allowed for more storage, additional seating, and an abundance of extra work space while cooking & entertaining. The built–in–hutch and the Bed & Breakfast Fireplace, paired with separate coffee bar and wine/bar station, ensures this kitchen has all the desired amenities tucked into traditional design.
