Fit For the Family Farmhouse
This entire 1998 outdated and worn out home required a total refresh and transformation. The floor plan was not dramatically altered but, instead, thoughtfully changed to deliver the biggest results for the best value. The clients desired a home that was functional for their large family. Specifically focusing on improving the function of the kitchen and family room. The existing fireplace was dated and disproportionate with the rest of the space. By removing a mechanical duct, squaring off the fireplace, and wrapping it in shiplap, we created a focal point that complimented the rest of the open concept living space. Enlarging the laundry room on the second level provided a space large enough to sort, fold and hang clothes for a family of 5. The master suite was reconfigured to incorporate a free-standing tub, large walk-in shower, and dual vanities, as well as enlarging the master walk-in closet. The basement was transformed from a dark hole to the perfect kids retreat with built-in bunk beds to boot! A guest suite with Jack and Jill bath replaced the temporary curtain room divider.
