The Interior Designer

The common perception of what an interior designer does is different than what we do at CrafteD. We focus on kitchen, bath, and custom home design. Specializing in remodels and new builds, while facilitating the creation of unique designs and selections.

You should hire a Kitchen and bath designer as soon as you’ve decided to start a project. We’re here to help guide you through every step and every decision. So, the sooner you can contact us the better we can assist you.

At CrafteD we have over 15 years experience in the industry. Certified Kitchen and Bath designer Melissa Helvey, CKBD has worked alongside nationally award-winning remodelers and custom home builders, gaining hands-on in-depth knowledge of best practices. As a company we hold many degrees and accreditations that set us apart in our industry. We encourage the professional growth and success of all our employees.

Yes, we believe the best projects come from collaborated efforts. So we have cultivated relationships with our preferred team of contractors that understand and respect the design process. They are an integral part of bringing our shared vision to life. 

The Process

We offer two options. Hourly consultation for someone who needs to bounce ideas off of a professional and get some guidance with their project. The second option is a packaged price, which is a percentage of the estimated overall cost of the project. This offers clients a fixed price they can confidently budget, and an all-inclusive list of deliverables from us. To start this process, please contact us here. 

At our initial consultation we discuss your future project in your home. Evaluating needs, budget, time constraints, and answering any questions you may have.

If you haven’t already, start creating an inspiration board (Pinterest, Houzz, Etc) to get ideas of what you like and don’t like. Anything helps – style preferences, materials, unique elements, etc.  

Our initial consultation lasts for approximately 30 minutes to one hour, depending on the size of the project.

The design phase can take anywhere  from one month to one year, based on the size of the project, scope of work, timely decisions, and all other trade professionals.

It’s completely up to you! We’re happy to take on as much as you’d like, or continue to collaborate with you until the design has been completed. 

Yes! You will have a designer managing your project from start to finish. While our design associates will also help with selections, specifications, and construction drawings.

Luckily, we’ve never had a client that wasn’t satisfied with our designs, but should that happen we will come to an agreement to meet your expectations.

While we’ve cultivated a great network of preferred trade professionals, we are happy to work with most anyone.

We manage the entire “design” portion of your project. Meaning we take care of constructions drawings, material and finish selections, product ordering and management, reselections, etc. We keep in constant contact with the contractor or builder to ensure our combined team has clear communication to execute the project properly.

After our initial consultation we will be able to better evaluate the scope of work for your project. Should the need arise we have hourly consulting services that could meet the needs of a smaller project. 

The largest type of project we work on are high-level luxury custom homes.

Fees & Regulations

Yes. After our initial consultation we will send you a proposal with a letter of agreement to sign based on the scope of work we discussed.

It all depends on the size and scope of your project. We charge $150 an hour for hourly consulting services, or we offer a packaged price, which is a percentage of the estimated overall cost of the project.

We can save you money by finding the most cost-effective solutions for your project. We have the ability to purchase most products directly from the manufacturer and pass along the savings to you. We also assist you in making thoughtful decisions that work together to create a cohesive plan. That way you won’t have to worry about buying something or paying someone to do something that has to be returned or reconfigured the next day.

Our typical projects range from; Kitchens 35-150k+, Bathrooms 25-85k+, Custom Homes 500k+. Please ask us about this at our consultation so we can provide project-specific price points.

No, you are not required to, though we do have a partner company that can provide all your product needs.
